The last Process 134 that Ambassador Matt Harris built up was his favorite bike to date – playful, nimble, and able to take a beating. Although he may find himself in this loop every year, he believes he has finally nailed it this time. Matt has built up this exceptional Process 134 CR that perfectly suits his local riding areas in the Sea to Sky region. As someone who isn’t particularly interested in racing, Matt finds that the trail bike DNA of the Process allows him to have a great time riding with anyone and tackling any trail they come across. He loved the subtle tones and matte finish of this frameset, which gives it a minimal and clean look. Let’s dive into the build…

When it comes to his drivetrain setup, Matt loves the feel of a compact cassette. He has found a rhythm that works well for him, which includes a 10-45t XT cassette with a 32t oval front ring, resting on an XTR alloy crankset in 170mm. Everything else in his drivetrain is XTR. He also prefers to ride with flat pedals, and currently uses the alloy Offering from OneUp.

Up front you’ll find a Oneup 35×35 stem with EDC and carbon 20mm rise bar. Cut to 770. For the saddle he went for a Chromag Trailmaster LTD atop a 210mm dropper post.

This time around, Matt wanted to see how a coil shock would perform on his bike. He had it tuned to suit the suspension kinematics and his riding style, and ultimately decided on the EXT Storia LOK V3. He picked up the classy Italian suspension from ALBA distribution right in Squamish, and was immediately impressed with the traction and support it provided. The feeling was so incredible that he couldn’t resist trying to squeeze in one more lap.

Matt decided to bring things to a stop with the Formula Cura 4 brakes. It took a handful of rides for him to get used to the feel, but now he rates them 10/10. He loves the fact that they come with all replacement seals and parts, along with a huge amount of power. He paired them with a thicker 2.3mm rotor from TRP, and loves the pairing so much that he plans to copy this setup for his Honzo next winter.

Matts’ wheelset spins on Chris King hubs in the new midnight colour, which are laced to We Are One Convergent Fuse carbon rims. He also uses valve stems made by Garage 31 to support the sidewalls, and has installed CushCore front and rear for additional sidewall support. His tires are Maxxis, with an Assegai 29×2.5 at 18 psi and a DHF 29×2.5 at 20 psi, giving him all the grip he needs without having to worry about traction.
